If I were president, I'd reward good decisions not bad ones. To bail out the mortgage industry, I'd send the 700+ billion to people with fixed rate traditional mortgages, under 2/3 the value of their house, and payments under 1/5 of their income. How would it bail out the industry? Who cares. At least it would reward good behavior.
